The Mayor of Eastwood Cllr Hazel Charlesworth was among the illustrious guests invited to attend the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire’s Legal Service.
The High Sheriff Mrs Nicky Weston hosted the special service which was held “in thanksgiving for our freedom under the law, the Queen’s peace and our national heritage.”
The church’s vicar the Rev Christopher Harrison conducted the service which brought together more than twenty High Court judges, high profile police representatives, civic dignitaries and prestigious guests.
Eastwood’s representatives were introduced to the likes of the Chief Constable Chris Eyre, Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping, the Sheriff of Nottingham Ian Malcolm and the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire John Peace.
Cllr Charlesworth said: “It has been a real eye-opener. I never realised just how much time and effort is put in to make our county extra special by so many extraordinarily talented and determined people.”
