Pet owners are being encouraged to go to Giltrbook Retail park this weekend where they can have their animals microchipped at a special low price.
Pets at Home will be microchipping dogs and cats all day Saturday and Sunday, February 1 and 2, for just £10.
Microchipping helps protect pets being lost and stolen and increases the chance of them being reunited with their owners.
Pets at Home store manager Jamie Maddison said: “It’s a simple, relatively painless and a fool-proof method of keeping your pet safe. It’s peace of mind.”
The chip is roughly the size of a grain of rice, fits under the pet’s skin and contains information about its owner.
