School children from Giltbrook wrote to their local MP about Government proposals to extend the length of time they spend in class.

Year three pupils from Gilthill Primary School wrote to Anna Soubry explaining to her why they were against the idea to make the school day longer.

Ms Soubry wrote back saying she thought each school should be able to decide individually what time the day ends, depending on what best suited pupils and staff.

The MP said: “The letters were excellently written and I was indeed persuaded by many of their arguments against making school days longer at Gilthill.”
