LETTER: Thankyou for kind words after death

Letters

I am writing on behalf of my sister Glenda Jensen (née Blagg) and myself to express our warmest thanks and appreciation to all those readers of the Advertiser who have contacted me and other members of my family to express their condolences following the sad death in March of our eldest sister, Avril Nelson.

In particular I would like to thank the sender of the beautiful card which referred to “the old days” and to shared memories of “South Street, the Mission, New Eastwood, Devonshire Drive and Walker Street schools.”

All three of us Blagg girls from South Street went to the Mission in New Eastwood and to Devonshire Drive, and Avril and Glenda (who has lived in America for many years) went to Walker Street.

The card came via the funeral director’s and you didn’t give us your name, but if you happen to be reading this I want you to know how pleased and touched both Glenda and I were to read your message. And now, of course, we’d love know who you are!

You could contact me via the Advertiser. We would really like to hear from you.

Hilary Hillier (nee Blagg)

Chilwell
