The Secretary of State for Transport Patrick McLoughlin hosted a ministerial surgery about the proposed high speed HS2 train.
The surgery was for residents in Nuthall, Strelley and Toton, who will all be affected if plans for the London to Birmingham rail line go-ahead.
Mr McLoughlin was invited to Strelley Hall to meet residents by local MP Anna Soubry.
He met a dozen constituents to discuss individual concerns relating to properties affected by the proposed route. Officials were also on hand to deal with queries and complaints.
The public consultation ends this month and a final decision is due at the end of the year.
