Broxtowe MP Anna soubry has paid tribute to ‘Kimberley legend’ Frankie Martin.

Ms Soubry said swing singer Frankie Martin, whose real name was Ian Campbell, or ‘Jock’ as many knew him, was ‘one of life’s givers’.

“There has been considerable shock and much sadness at the sudden death of Ian Campbell. He entertained many in the Kimberley and Eastwood area with his fabulous singing.

“Jock supported a number of local charities and served on Kimberley Town Council. He really was one of life’s givers. He will be greatly missed,” she added.

The singer died last week aged 53. He raised more than £140,000 for Help for Heroes during a year-long pub tour.
