PET OF THE YEAR: photo sessions looming large

The countdown is now on until the first photo shoot for the Advertiser’s eagerly-awaited Pet Of The Year competition.

Top snapper John Booth, of John Booth Photography, will be set up at the Lawrence Veterinary Centre on Nottingham Road in Eastwood on Friday August 25 from midday to 5 pm.

All you need to do if you would like to enter your pet for the competition is fill in the coupon that you can get in the the Advertiser, in this week’s edition and next week’s. and pop along.

But don’t fear if you can’t make the photo session.

For we have a series lined up to give you every opportunity to enter (see below).

The competition is sure to capture the imagination of locals with prizes up for grabs in two categories — ‘cats and dogs’ and out of the box and cage’.

A top three will be decided in each section with the winner scooping a £100 voucher from John Booth Photography, of Ilkeston, and a £50 voucher from Lawrence Veterinary Centre; second place getting £50 and £25 vouchers from the respective sponsors and third place a £20 and a £10 vouchers.

The top three will also scoop a canvas of the photo taken for the competition.

Once all the photos are taken across the calendar of photo shoots, the Advertiser will present the top pets.

But the decision on the winners will be down to you, the readers.

Photo sessions for the Pet of The Year competition will be at the Lawrence Veterinary Centre, Nottingham Road, on:

Friday April 25 (12 midday to 5pm);

Sunday April 27 (10 am to 2pm);

Friday May 2 (12midday to 5pm);

Saturday May 3 (from 9am to 3pm);

Saturday May 10 (9am to 3pm)
