This year’s Poppy Appeal in Eastwood will be held at Morrisons in Kelham Way and Ikea at the Giltbrook Retail Park.
Volunteer collectors are at the two stores taking donations and handing out poppies until November 10.
Last year, £17,702 was raised altogether in Eastwood.
Poppy Appeal orgnaniser Rita Restorick said: “We would hope to raise the same amount or more this year, but obviously we realise the financial constraints for a lot of people.”
There will be 40 volunteers collecting on behalf of the Royal british Legion and Eastwood’s Army Cadets are also helping out.
Street collections will be held on several days in Nottingham Road.
