Young people, coaches and volunteers involved in a project that provides activities to children in Aldercar and Langley Mill have greatly impressed Derbyshire’s Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa.
He met Sheena Trower, one of the organisers of the Aldercar and Langley Mill Children’s Activities Scheme which is provided by Langley Mill Community Group, and youngsters who use the scheme.
Having seen for himself what the scheme provides, Mr Dhindsa said afterwards: “I was delighted to see the valuable skills and leisure opportunities this project offers to youngsters in the area.
“I feel very strongly that more schemes like this will help to draw young people towards the benefits of participating in activities that, at the same time, help to keep youngsters busy and out of trouble.”
Other projects that share the same aims include OzBox Allenton Boxing Academy, a scheme that previously provided Ozbox boxing sessions to youngsters aged seven to 15 at a Langley Mill Community Group event.
