A pub in Eastwood raised £1,200 for the Help for Heroes charity after organising a tribute night.

The gig at the Wellington Inn included tribute acts covering the hits of Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams and Debbie Harry and Blondie to Elvis.

Landlady Gini Secker said the pub was ‘swamped’.

“It’s the first charity event we’ve done,” she said. “It was a great night. We had a lot of donations and held a raffle. And the lady who won the top prize, which was a BMX, sold it and donated the cash.”

The Wellington is now organising a three-day summer beer festival to raise money for the same charity, which supports injured service personnel and their families. Photos courtesy of AAProductions.
