A glorious array of attractions have been lined up as part of the 14th Eastwood Arts Festival with a chance for locals of all ages to get involved in the spectacular event.
The month-long attraction is packed with everything from live performances to workshops and this year’s renewal boasts more than 30 events.
There are mosaic, pottery, song-writing, sugarcraft, music tech and willow-weaving workshops, as well as kite making, printing and storytelling for children.
The festival is guaranteed to have something for everyone.
Other highlights to look forward to include a Vibe music event, Fun House comedy night and a wildlife workshop with the chance to hold snakes and lizards.
Councillor Ian Tyler, Broxtowe Borough Council’s portfolio holder for bringing people together, said: “The festival has become one of the highlights of the year and is a fantastic opportunity to bring the local community together to celebrate the arts.”
The festival has once again been arranged by Broxtowe Council in consultation with the Eastwood Arts Festival Steering Group and various other organisations.
A leaflet widely available throughout the town showcasing the events declares the aim to ‘wow and inspire residents and visitors alike’.
Eastwood Mayor, Cllr Ken Woodhead is also excited about the effect the festival has on the town.
He said: “It brings people into the town and there is always a great atmosphere.
I will be attending as many of the events as I can and I hope the people of Eastwood will support the festival too.”
