Roller skating trip for Scouts

1st Sitwell Scouts

1st Sitwell Scouts

The 1st Sitwell Scout Group has staged a thank you event for the children who attended the district promise renewal parade.

The Horsley Woodhouse-based Scout group had 36 youngsters, eight leaders and one young leader at the parade – that’s 45 more than last year as the group had close due to lack of Leaders.

The group also took the Beaver and Cubs’ section to Rollerworld in Derby. For some of the children it was there first time they had been roller skating, but by the end of the event they were able to skate around the large arena.

The Scout troop will be going to Drumhill campsite in Little Eaton to do either archery or rifle shooting.

The 1st Sitwell HQ is at Sitwell Meadows Recreation Ground and is open to children surrounding areas of Heanor, Shipley park, Marlpool, Smalley and, of course, Horsley woodhouse.

Section time are: Beaver Scouts (6-8years) Thursdays 6-7pm; Cubs (8-10 ½ years) Wednesdays 6:30-8pm and Scouts (10 ½-14 years) Monday – 7- 8:30pm. For more or become an adult leader or helper visit www.1stsitwellscoutgroup.co.uk.
