A persistant shoplifter from Jacksdale has been given an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) and banned from stores in the Amber Valley Shop Watch scheme.
James Mason, 36, of Main Road, will have to abide by the two year-long ASBO imposed by magistrates in Chesterfield for ‘repeated rowdy or nuisance behaviour, shoplifting and intimidating staff and customers’.
He has also been given a six-month ban by the Amber Valley Shop Watch. If he is found breaching the ASBO, he could face jail.
Anyone who mightsee him breaching any conditions can call 101 to report it. Sgt Dave Harrison, of the Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership, said: “Mr Mason’s behaviour has had a negative impact on local residents, shoppers and store staff. He is now suffering the consequences of his own actions. We hope that this will have a positive outcome for members of the community but also for Mr Mason himself to try and improve his own behaviour.”
