A charity cafe in Kimberley has started doing sign language sessions to help communication between parents and their children.

Rumbletums, which offers training to college leavers with learning difficulties, will have specially trained women in the cafe each week to teach signing.

Jeff Buck who runs the cafe said it is also beneficial for children who are not deaf, and helps overall communication.

The new signing sessions, held with an organisation called Ready Steady Sign will be held each Wednesday morning.

The cafe’s new parent and toddler sessions are hugely popular, with 19 parents and 25 kids turning up this week for songs, rhymes and stories.
