NHS Blood and Transplant is calling for locals to spell out their decision to be an organ donor after 13 Nottinghamshire residents died due to a shortage of donors.

The campaign has been launched as part of National Transplant Week (July 7-13) and encourages people to discuss their wishes with their loved ones as the decision will fall to them if you die and can donate.

In Nottinghamshire, there are currently 124 people in Nottinghamshire waiting for a transplant, and three people a day die in need of an organ transplant so the NHS Blood and Transplant is asking people to spell out their decision to donate by joining the NHS Organ Donor Register.

To register your organ donation decision go to www.transplantweek.co.uk.
