Step up for Anna Soubry

Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry has ben appointed junior health minister in David Cameron’s cabinet reshuffle this week.

Miss Soubry said she was surprised by Mr Cameron’s decision because there had been speculation in the media she might be moved to a role in the Ministry of Justice.

But she said health suited her ‘just as well’ because she comes from a family who have worked in the health service for many years.

The MP said one of her priorities would be to look at hospitals, saying she was aware of problems with waiting times at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham that ‘needed to be investigated’.
