Tram extension bid is on the agenda

Moves to extend the tram network into Kimberley could move another step closer when councillors meet next week to discuss its feasibility.

As an update to a previous study, private-sector businesses along the proposed tram route into the town have already committed £35,000 towards a new study to explore the viability of bringing the tram to the town.

Broxtowe borough councillors are set to meet in the council chamber, in Beeston Town Hall at 6pm on Tuesday July 29 to discuss the proposed Kimberley Tram Extension Feasibility Study,

Broxtowe Borough Council leader, Cllr Milan Radulovic said: “We’re delighted to have been given the opportunity to be given a transport solution for the 21st century.”
