Two women inside Hucknall snooker hall released as police continue to negotiate with armed man

Police at the scene of an armed siege in Hucknall have led two women, who were believed to be trapped inside with an armed man, to safety.

Specialist negotiators continue to liaise with a man at the Hucknall snooker hall.

The women, who were removed from Spot On Snooker Club, in Vine Terrace, are extremely distressed but uninjured.

A cordon has remained around the club since police were called there at 2.20pm on Thursday 13th March in relation to a man acting suspiciously.

Police say trained negotiators are now working with him in a bid to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.

Vine Terrace and High Street remain closed as a precaution.

Police are continuing to issue a warning to residents living nearby to remain inside. Those unable to access their homes are advised to find alternative temporary accommodation or attend Hucknall Leisure Centre.
