The Kimberley-based Velocity School of Dancing has ended its first year on a high note with a double funding boost courtesy of Nottinghamshire county councillor Ken Rigby and Kimberley Town Council.
Velocity principal Colin Chedgzoy and his dance teachers Michael Hebden and Cordelia Mills and the dance school’s members extended a warm welcome to Cllr Rigby and to Kimberley councillor Karen Tennant.
Cllr Rigby has dug deep into his Divisional Fund to present £200, while Cllr Tennant handed over a further £125 from the town council.
The funding will pay for quipment such as a ballet bar, mini-trampolines, a white board, mirror and a promotional banner.
“ The young dancers in our ranks are over the moon with the new equipment which will be beneficial to their needs” said Colin. “ We are extremely grateful to Cllr Ken Rigby for his brilliant support and to our local council whose backing is greatly appreciated”.
