Residents of Eastwood and Kimberley are being warned about bogus doorstep callers offering to repair or relay driveways.
The warning comes from Notts County Council which has received reports from residents that doorstep approaches have been made offering to relay drives by people
purporting to represent Tarmac.
“As Tarmac is a key partner for highway schemes with Nottinghamshire County Council we would like to remind our residents that neither county council workmen, nor any of our key partners would adopt such an approach to selling services,” said Neil Hodgson, of the county council’s highways department.
“The callers in question were wearing high-visibility vests marked ‘Tarmac’ and offered to do work on residents’ drives with material left over from a job that they were working on.”
