Selston Methodist Church is to celebrating its 175th year with a week of events starting Saturday, September 6 .
The church on Chapel road, Selston, is a rarity.
A spokesperson said: “It is the only chapel still used for public worship which can trace its foundation back to a previously unrecorded Methodist denomination – no other chapel can make such a claim.”
The programme of events will begin with a prayer breakfast on Saturday with refreshments and Last Night of The Proms performance by the Shirebrook Brass Band.
The church will host exhibitions and conclude with a harvest festival service.
