Nottinghamshire county councillor John Handley has backed Brinsley Women’s Fellowship with £200 from his divisional fund towards a planned Summer outing.
Group officials Molly Quigley (chairman), Madge Musgrove (secretary), and Margaret Bainbridge (treasurer), welcomed Cllr Handley, who represents Brinsley and Greasley of the Beauvale Division.
The fellowship, which has around 40 members, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2015.
“I am pleased to support the group, which was previously known as Brinsley Mothers’ Union. Funding to local groups and organisations has been drastically cut by Nottinghamshire County Council but it is important that local groups and organisations such as this one get the monetary support they deserve to keep them flourishing.” said Cllr Handley.
“ We are grateful to Coun.Handley for his support. It is a very kind gesture and much appreciated,” said Mrs Quigley.
