Heroes from Eastwood who served during the First World War will be honoured at a ceremony in the town.
Broxtowe Borough Council is to unveil a commemorative granite structure, in recognition of the troops of the town who served in the conflict.
It coincides with the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the ‘Great War’.
The event will take place in the Memorial Gardens, at the Mansfield Road Recreation Ground, Eastwood, on Monday, August 4.
The event is from 10.45am to 11am.
Plans are also being considered to provide a more permanent war memorial.
