A STUDENT at Aldercar Community Language College has raised nearly £800 for breast cancer support.
The teenager staged a non-uniform day to raise the money for the charity.
Lucy Cotterill, 17, from Langley Mill, publicised the event with posters asking people to wear pink to show their support for the cause.
Lucy said: “I thought I would raise the money, as my great grandma Margaret Peacy suffered from breast cancer and I thought this would be a great charity to raise money for. I will continue to fund raise as I found it rather enjoyable.”
College deputy principal Chris McGraw said: “We are very proud of the work Lucy has done to raise awareness of the issues surrounding breast cancer.
“It is wonderful that she has shown such commitment and dedication to help others who are fighting breast cancer.”
