A PENSIONER who regularly attends the Age Concern luncheon club in Eastwood has raised over £3,000 for the charity.

Ethel Watford made cakes and jam and knitted items of clothing to sell to other members at the centre and at craft fairs.

She wanted to raise the money to say thank you to the volunteers who run the weekly socialising events at the Colin Dyson Centre in Edward Road.

Treasurer Josie Forrest said: “She says the centre has changed her life and she wants to give a little back. Ethel is an incredible lady.”
