Employees at the laundry in Bailey Grove, Eastwood, are pictured here in the 1920s.
The staff in this photo include Nora Reeve, Edith Guyler, Ivy Patrick, Dorrie Steel, Dorothy Smith and Miss Colson, whose father was the Eastwood town crier.
The girls used to work from 8am until 8pm, and on Saturdays they had to stay until the work was all cleared ready for the van drivers to finish their delivery.
Betty Richardson worked there aged 14. She said it was hard work, and she got paid 11/3d.
