MP mourns loss of town butcher shop

A family butchers in Kimberley is set to close after nearly 60 years.

M., B. and R. Woodcock in James Street is closing because one of the brothers – Michael – is retiring.

Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry said: “This is another blow for Kimberley and will form part of my submission to Broxtowe Borough Council who have agreed to meet with me to discuss the future of our town centres.”

“The Government has already given £150,000 to help rejuvenate and regenerate Stapleford, Beeston, Kimberley and Eastwood and I am keen to know how the money is being spent.”

Ronald Woodcock is set to open a butchers in Newthorpe.
