New bird boxes built for Selston Golf Course

ADULTS with learning difficulties have crafted bird boxes for Selston Golf Course thanks to a partnership project.

Ashfield District Council teamed up with Enable Housing Association’s JT Project, which gives adults with learning difficulties training and experience in work-type activities.

The bird boxes were made as part of last week’s National Nest Box Week, and is organised by the British Trust for Ornithology. The boxes will house a variety of species, including Blue Tits, Robins and Tawny Owls.

Cllr Mick Parker, Chairman of Ashfield District Council, said: “The work is part of our continuing commitment to improving parks and open spaces across the district for the benefit of people and wildlife.”
