A music teacher has launched a community choir in Brinsley.

Charlotte Bullock said she started the choir because there was nothing like it in the area.

The group of 25 meet at Brinsley Parish Hall every Wednesday evening at 6.45pm.

Charlotte said: “It’s been really successful.

“I’ve got 25 members which is great considering it’s only been going a few weeks.

“They are sounding great as wellwhich is a plus!”

The Community Choir is open to anybody, of all ages and abilities.

Members are currently working towards a concert to be held at the parish hall on July 15.

Charlotte, of Lynncroft, Eastwood, is hosting the concert and it will feature musicians she teaches privately and soloists as well as group performances.

Doors will open at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start and refreshments will be available after the performances.

Tickets are £7 and £5.50 concessions.

Charlotte teaches singing and piano at a school in Derby, and also teaches private lessons.
