A NEWLY-FORMED football club which hopes to begin competing in the 2012/13 season has been getting help from local businesses.
Eastwood & Kimberley FC were formed by former AFC Kimberley captain Ant Watkinson in an attempt to bridge the two communities and have a smooth-running club with high ambitions.
The club now has a number of partners and sponsors.
Hendersons Metals & Recycling have handed over a cheque for £557 which will be used for the club’s kit and training wear.
The Cricketers Rest pub in Kimberley will sponsor the club and become its base, while main partner is the Ryan Lee Trust which it will raise money for.
A sponsored bike ride will take place on July 17 to raise funds for both the Trust and the club.
Training is open to anyone at 7pm on Wednesday nights at Hall Park, Eastwood.
