A café bar is opening in Mansfield following a £571,000 investment.

Loungers, a West Country restaurant and café bar group, is due to open Capo Lounge on Stockwell Gate on Wednesday, creating 25 jobs.

Capo Lounge aspires to be a family-friendly, retro-inspired cosy retreat, where eclectic art work and vintage styles collide.

Loungers has spent £571,000 transforming the site.

A huge mixed media mural depicting the area’s connection with the coal industry has been commissioned for the back bar.

Pete Dinsdale, Loungers operations manager, said: “We’re looking forward to throwing open the doors at Capo Lounge and showing the locals how to lounge in style.

“We’re in an enviable spot, in the heart of Stockwell Gate.

“We’re family-friendly and well-practised at keeping the little ones happy.

“The team at Capo Lounge is looking forward to becoming party of the community and will support local groups and initiatives wherever possible.”

A community notice board is available for those wanting to publicise events and a book swap area is kept well stocked.

The team will also be holding regular fund raising events as part of Loungers’ commitment to making a difference in the community.
