NOTTINGHAMSHIRE Police are warning residents to prepare for a change of its non-emergency phone number.
From Monday November 7, residents will have to dial 101 instead of the old 0300 300 9999 number if they want to report non-emergency crimes including car theft, damage to property and minor traffic collisions or to speak to local officers or for general enquiries.
The number change is aimed at making it easier to report crime with every force using the same number by the end of the year. The 999 number is still only for use in an emergency when a crime is happening.
