No interest in parish council?

Sir,

I have attended two recent meetings of the Greasley Parish Council and found that I was the only member of the public there.

I find this strange when this council covers quite a wide area with a considerable population and has a number of buildings and recreation areas etc and has substantial financial responsibilities.

Is there any particular reason for this lack of interest?

Have people no issues to voice?

Parish Councils are the first link of the democratic chain in this country.
