SELSTON parish councillor Gail Turner, centre, cuts the ribbon to open the new wing at the village’s Wren Hall nursing home on Thursday afternoon.

The new facility includes a new kitchen, four new lounges, a hairdressing salon, training rooms and a day centre named after long-serving care assistant Christine Bates who died in January last year after working at the nursing home for 22 years.

“We’re really pleased with the new wing, there are specialist rooms for different types of dementia to suit every patient,” said managing director Anita Peet, pictured second right.
