Olympic hopeful opens gym

KIMBERLEY’S very own Paralympic hopeful Simon Wilson unveiled a new-look youth gym following an impressive £53,000 makeover to make the facility more accessible to disabled users.

The Kimberley-based wheelchair fencing athlete joined the Broxtowe Mayor Cllr Jacky Williams and several councillors at a special ceremony to officially open the facility at Kimberley Leisure Centre yesterday, March 1.

The equipment includes an interactive wall, hydraulic resistance equipment and dance mats.

There will be an open day where children and families can try out the equipment for free tomorrow, Saturday, March 3, between 9am and 4pm.
