Members of the Nuthall and Kimberley Cancer Research committee raised £2,500 at a recent Christmas open day.
Committee members Carolyn and Derek Smith invited people into their home for the ninth year running for home-made cakes and preserves, hand-made greetings cards, Christmas novelties, decorations and gifts.
There was a tombola and Santa was kept busy giving out presents and having his photograph taken with the children.
Branch member Carolyn Smith said people came ‘in their droves’ to support the event.
She said: “Family, friends, neighbours and colleagues, as well as committee members knitted, sewed, baked, donated and all-round helped.
“Everybody made it a huge success,” she added.
