Rumbletums Café has beeen named the Eastwood & Kimberley Advertiser’s Café of the Year after votes for the venue streamed in.
The café and training project in Kimberley which celebrated its third birthday this year landed the award after polling the most votes from readers.
Rumbletums, of Victoria Street, offers opportunities for young people with learning difficulties and was started in 2011 by a group of parents and friends who wanted to provide a brighter future for disabled young adults.
Café trustee and director Jeff Buck was delighted that the venue had been chosen to receive the prestigious award, and he was proud of his staff for making it happen.
He added: “We know that the café is quite good, but were reluctant to say we are the best café in Kimberley, so we are very pleased to have won the award.
“As it is our customers who have voted for us, it shows that everything we are doing we need to continue to do.
“We would like to say a big thank you to all the people who support the cafe and who voted for us.”
As well as the core business, Rumbletums offers a variety of activities including their most recent venture - a Memory Group for dementia sufferers - and has also become a hub for the community.
Jeff said: “We are always looking at what the next thing is for the café so that we make sure what we offer to the trainees is as good as it can be.
