Park improvements unveiled

More than £30,000 of improvements have been unveiled at the Mansfield Road Recreation Ground and Memorial Garden at Eastwood.

The Mayor of Broxtowe, Cllr Margaret Handley, was joined by members of the Royal British Legion as she dedicated a weeping cherry tree, which was planted to symbolise the tears of local people who have lost loved ones in conflict.

The improvements to the Mansfield Road Recreation Ground provide a more welcoming green space with new fencing, more accessible footpaths and improved car parking. The Mayor also unveiled a seat in memory of local girl Liane Ruddy, who died in a car accident in 2011.
