A COUNCILLOR gave a Kimberley pensioner group £350 so they could go on a trip to the theatre.
Underwood councillor Robert Sears-Piccavey presented group president Anne Carr with the cheque at their recent diamond jubilee celebrations.
He said: “I know its hard for community groups to cope with the current economical climate and thought it would be appropriate to support this association because its been going for so long and has over 40 members.”
Cllr Sears-Piccavey runs Community Chest, a charity shop in Kimberley.
He is always looking for donations of clothes, bric-a-brac and small electrical items. Collections of items can be arranged. Call 07889 085 364.
