Police urge parents to walk

POLICE in Eastwood have issued an appeal to parents to walk their kids to school because of problems with congested roads.

The Advertiser reported last year how cars were parking illegally and dangerously around Springbank Primary School and Brookhill Leys Primary School causing problems for pupils and residents.

Officers are now urging people to walk instead of drive to reduce the traffic problems.

“Motorists have been double-parking, parking on junctions, over dropped curbs, on the pavement and even on Zebra crossings,” said PCSO Stephanie Marshall.

“This is irresponsible, inconsiderate and dangerous.

“We will be challenging inappropriate driving and parking.”
