Popular school teacher Mr Langley

Howzat? Captured here on the cricket outfield is Norman Langley, who used to work at several schools in the area.

Mr Langley was very popular with the pupils, and used to teach sport.

He worked at Brinsley Primary School and Greasley Beauvale Primary School.

Now in his late 80s and living in Kent, he recently got back in touch with some of his old pupils through an appeal in the Advertiser.

Thanks to Mr Langley, Brinsley School had a new football pitch and new football and cricket teams were formed.

He was described as a ‘breath of fresh air’ and the ‘number one’ teacher.
