Eastwood Post Office is due to re-open on Monday, December 7.
The Post Office in Nottingham Road closed for refurbishment on November 3 and was due to open two weeks later.
But the opening date was put back after the Postmaster resigned and a new one had to be appointed.
A new Postmaster had been appointed ahead of the refurbishment, but withdrew from the project not long after it started.
A Post Office spokesman said; “A new Postmaster was appointed to run the Eastwood Post Office and as part of plans to modernise the branch the new operator scheduled a refurbishment.
“The branch closed for refurbishment on November 3 and was due to re-open to customers on 20 November.
“Unfortunately during the refurbishment the new operator withdrew from the project leaving an empty Post Office shell and no Postmaster to run the branch.
“Post Office Ltd took over the refurbishment of the branch and have successfully appointed a new operator to take on the running of the Post Office which will now open on the 7 December at 1pm.
“We would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience the longer than planned closure of the Eastwood Post Office has caused.”
