Programme in summer a success

A holiday activities programme in Langley Mill attracted 459 kids throughout the summer. The programme was said to be ‘extremely’ successful and attracted 93 kids on the first day.

Activities included volleyball, football, kwik cricket, hockey, rounders, arts and crafts.

The initiative was run by Derbyshire Constabulary, supported by Aldercar and Langley Mill Parish Council.

£6,000 funding was provided by Asda and £2,000 was provided by Derbyshire PCT.

There were also contributions made by Aldercar and Langley Mill Parish Council and county councillor Kevin Parkinson.
