Two coffee mornings are being planned as part of a programme of events in Greasley to commemorate the 100th anniversary since the outbreak of World War One.
They will be held in Greasley Parish Hall on June 28 and July 12 from 10am with proceeds to be donated to The Royal British Legion.
The hall will feature a display of 1914-18 information from newspaper articles and magazines as well as patriotic posters and a specially produced audio-visual presentation.
Event organisers are also planning a coach trip to the National Arboretum in Staffordshire on Saturday July 5, A coach will leave the Greasley Sports and Community Centre on Dovecote Road at 9am, returning from the arboretum at 4pm. The programme will conclude with an exhibition and service of remembrance in St Mary’s parish church, Greasley on August 4.
