Officers in Eastwood have teamed up with a local domestic violence support service in a bid to reduce the chances of women becoming repeat victims.
The two-month pilot scheme will see officers and staff at Broxtowe Women’s Project visit every victim of domestic violence who reports an incident to police.
The aim of the project is to inform victims, through the police, about the services available to them.
The Broxtowe Women’s Project will also be running awareness sessions with officers as part of the project
The project runs weekly drop-in sessions, outreach and over the phone support.
