Larkfields Infant and Senior Schools in Nuthall will now undergo faesibility studies and consultation to investigate whether they are suitable for a significant expansion.

At the meeting of the Children and Young People’s Committee of Nottinghamshire County Council on Monday night, proposals to begin the consultation on plans to expand 13 schools in the county were approved.

These schools could see an increase in pupil places by 25 per cent or more from next September to meet rising demand in the areas.

The county council has already completed two schemes which have expanded primary schools to create more than 2,000 places.
