THE Police Authority agreed to start a public consultation about station closures in a meeting this week.
The authority met to talk through the latest round of planned cutbacks – closing 12 stations county-wide including Kimberley – and agreed to a public consultation starting early next week. But Kimberley councillors think the consultation has come to late and ‘after the deal has been done’.
The proposals will go through a meeting of senior officers in mid September where a final decision will be made.
Cllr Steve Brunt said a seven week consultation was ‘not good enough’.
