PUPILS at a Kimberley primary school have made up shoeboxes to send to children in poorer countries for Christmas.

Items inspired by the 2012 Olympics, such as whistles, blow-up balls, skipping ropes and other goodies were put in the boxes by Hollywell Primary School children.

The 39 boxes have been passed onto Samaritan’s Purse for their annual project, Operation Christmas Child and will be handed to children in parts of Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

Lois Wilde, office administrator, said: “The children were very interested as to who would be receiving the presents.”
