As part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Ripley Rattlers tram system, Crich Tramway Village is loaning out a vintage tram to Kimberley town centre this Saturday.

The Ripley Rattlers, so named because of the bumpy route – one of the worst and most dangerous in the country – ran from Nottingham to Ripley, via Kimberly and Eastwood, from 1913 to 1932.

Tramway village curator Laura Waters said: “Although we don’t have an original Ripley tram, the Southampton 45 is of a similar size and style to those that would have run though this area.”
