Sale set for brass bid

Local fundraisers have got together with Eastwood trader ‘Sweet Memories’ to raise funds for a brass band to play in Eastwood and Brinsley in 2012.

The shop will be selling items for children including mobile phone socks, children’s coin purses, Hello Kitty shopping bags and badges, the profits from which will go towards fundraising group ‘Communities Against Poverty’.

‘The profit margin of 10% per item is small because we like to give people a bargain but it all helps.

We’re really grateful to Jane at Sweet Memories for helping us out’, volunteer Angela Smith told the Advertiser.

Stocks will be in the Nottingham Road shop from Saturday 3 December.

Organisers say they are currently about halfway to their funding target.
